The Plan of Salvation

—God created man to honor, serve and fellowship with Him.  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to  receive glory and honor and power:  for Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)  Man chose to sin against God, rather than serve Him. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

When man chose to disobey God, the result was death.  This includes physical death and spiritual death, which separates a person from God for ever in Hell.  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23)  Many have tried to gain eternal life through their own efforts, but every attempt has been a failure.  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us  (Titus 3:5a)

—Jesus Christ was sent to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross, being buried and coming back to life three days later.  But God showed His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)  We must turn from our sin and trust Christ as our Lord and our Savior.  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. (Acts 3:19)  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

If you turn from your sin and trust Christ to save you, God has promised you will have eternal life.  He that hears My Word, and believes on Him that sent me, has everlasting life. (John 5:24)
