Our Beliefs
We are an independent Baptist church holding firmly to the beliefs traditionally known as “The Baptist Distinctives”. Our church is self governing, it’s membership consists of those who have been saved and baptized by immersion. We recognize every true believer has personal and direct access to God through His Word and prayer and each is also personally accountable to God. The Bible is our absolute authority for our beliefs and all our actions. Consequently, we have only two offices within the church, the pastor and the deacons, we recognize two ordinances, the Lords Supper and Baptism. We also recognize that God has ordained both the church and human government, which are to function in mutual cooperation while maintaining their God given distinctions as institutions.
God
We believe that God is a Trinity; that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit make up the Godhead; these are three distinct persons yet one God, co-equal and co-eternal.
God the Father
We believe that God the Father is all powerful, all knowing, present everywhere, unchanging, limitless, without beginning or ending, self existent and that He alone is the object of our worship and praise.
God the Son
We believe that God the Son is the Creator and Sustainer of creation; that He is virgin born and is God, that His death on the cross purchased our forgiveness, He was buried, rose again, is now in heaven and is the only way of salvation.
God the Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and Son and of the same nature; that He convicts the world; that He is the agent of the New Birth; and dwells in all true believers.
The Bible
We believe every Word of the Bible, from Genesis to 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, was spoken by God and is therefore perfect in the original manuscripts, free from all error; and that the Scriptures are completely sufficient for every need in life.
Man
We believe that man was created by God without sin, but that by disobedience to God he incurred physical and spiritual death; hence all men are totally depraved, in need of salvation and completely unable to save themselves.
Sin
We believe that except for Jesus, all men have sinned; sin separates man from God; there is no forgiveness of sin apart from the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Salvation
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, a free gift of God in the Person and through the work of Jesus Christ; we believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept secure by God’s power.
The Church
We believe the church is God’s ordained institution for accomplishing His purposes in the world today. God has set apart the church to glorify Himself and equip believers for His service. We believe the church has two offices, the pastor who is to oversee, shepherd and administrate the church and the deacon who is to serve the physical needs of the body.
Separation
We believe that we are mandated by God in the Scriptures to separate ourselves unto Christ and from any participation in or endorsement of sin, worldliness or compromise of the fundamental doctrines of the faith.
Charismatic Movement
We reject all aspects of the modern charismatic movement and believe that speaking in tongues, healers and miracle workers were a part of God’s plan to authenticate the apostolic ministry. These miraculous signs ceased during the apostolic era and are not for today.
